Crux Karoo / Sutherland

Crux Satellite Sky Tracker

Track predicted satellite passes above the south-facing Sutherland horizon. The viewer maps east through south to west, using the live CelesTrak cache where available and clearly labelled offline sample data when not.

Above the Karoo now

Use the horizon view to understand what is moving overhead now, what is coming next, and what may affect a night under the Karoo stars.

This tool shows predicted satellite positions from cached CelesTrak orbital data when available. If the live cache is unavailable, the interface clearly marks offline/sample data. Actual visibility depends on sunlight, shadow, altitude, brightness, weather, and sky conditions. Satellite visibility is never guaranteed — this is predicted geometry, not a confirmed sighting. Starlink brightness is especially variable. The table above is deliberately limited to the strongest above-horizon objects for the selected window, not a full catalogue dump or a multi-orbit future pass prediction.
